Still 03:15
A break In the water In the salt-line Left behind A tree Blue Horizon Seven Branches On the ground My love Lay still Move only with The wind I'm writing you With nothing left No envelope To steal this mess Stolen light Burning moon Precious time I'm telling My love Lay still Move only with The wind.

Periphery 04:32
There's a ridge of high pressure rolling in Clearing all these dark clouds hovering And I see The periphery Despite my shortened view Though I can't predict the future I would have preferred it to include you Came to realize all this rain Pouring on my heart was perfectly safe Cleaned my eyes out So I could see I could love you Without you loving me And I see The periphery Despite my shortened view Though I can't predict the future I would have preferred it to include you

Pretend 04:06
Take you out for lunch if that's what you need Please don't make a fuss if I barely eat Probably just sit and stare Because I've been so hungry For the feel of your skin and lips And the way you used to kiss me. Can I pretend successfully? Take you out to a show if that's where you want to go Please don't make fuss if I don't know What the drummer just said Because I've been thinking about the sea And where we just laid And how you used to touch me.
4.
Forgive 05:14
You won't forgive me Should I just go? It's been nice playing shows But everyone knows Please just tell me what's on your mind Don't leave blind Or out in the cold I know it's hard To trust someone else You, you've got yourself And that's work enough I never meant you no harm Life just got hard So I closed my heart No one can make You feel complete Please look at me See how I weep Don't push me out of your life Please let me try I will not fail you.
5.
Take your hand Lift it up Point there is The moon How she's burning Oh so bright Must we leave so soon? We have oh a billion years Now go, get on our bikes Ride and ride until we find ourselves a camping site. And all night They will say We did right On this day When we stop We'll find a spring And drink our thirst away When we're quenched I'll see your eyes And know to close the day Stay awake until the dawn will come and wash your face I don't want to sleep I fear your heart might go astray And all night They will say We did right On this day

about

This EP was recorded in various bedrooms and livingrooms around the world while I've been on tour and a couple were recorded out at my firetower. I've always loved these slow simple songs but never had a place for them until now. My hope is that when you listen to these intimate songs you will feel like I am sitting nearby singing you lullabies and sipping cocoa or chamomile tea. I want to thank everyone who has encouraged and supported my musical endeavors. xomm
